Well, we just got back from Lucy's first trip to the zoo. Bryan has been wanting to take her since she was 3 months old, but I thought that might be a bit early seeing as how she couldn't see past about 12 inches. So...we waited as long as we could. Today it is 65 degrees outside, sunny and beautiful. It has snowed about 37 times since December 1st, and has been SO COLD all winter. We decided to take advantage of this freak-thaw and get out.
Lucy did soooooo well! My friend Jeny and her son Dakota (3 weeks Lucy's junior) came with us. Both kids seemed to really enjoy themselves. They got very excited about the chimpanzees that were running around. Lucy's mouth came WIDE open and she gasped at one point. Too cute! I love how literal the zoo was about stuff. See below.
We saw several cool animals, but a lot were not out or asleep due to the winter season. Lucy wasn't a fan of the petting zoo. Bryan took her in, but she was holding on to him with a death grip like I've never seen. She didn't get upset, she just didn't want him to put her down I guess! Oh well, we will go more this summer when she is a bit older and knows more of what's up. We decided to skip the carousel as well. I can just see her having a melt down and me being stuck going around and around and around. It could have been a nightmare...By the end of the afternoon, Lu was all tuckered out. She was quite a trooper.
Hope all of you are well out there! T-minus 3 days until LUCY IS ONE!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!
