Snowstorm of 2010

Wow! We just had a pretty big snowstorm. You won't see any pictures of it here though. I didn't go out. Neither did Lucy. Bryan wasn't even in town. It wasn't all that exciting for us. The ear infection fairy has recently visited Lucy, so of course I wasn't letting her get NEAR the cold. And I have had ebola of the throat (not really, but I've had something funky for a week now) and just got on some good antibiotics myself. Beautiful snow or not, we were not venturing out into the big, bad, FREEZING world that was out our door. I did get a day off from school on Friday, which my poor voice badly needed.

We actually stayed with my parents (Mumsy and Grandy), as I didn't want to be stuck in the blizzard, alone with Lucy, and possibly no power. The meteorologists kind of missed the boat on just how bad the snow totals would be, but I'm glad I stayed with them, as free food that I didn't have to cook flowed freely from the kitchen! Also, I had help with bathtime (Lucy's of course), and got one baby free night, too! I slept 10 hours straight and it was beautiful. I should mention here that I think Lucy's ear infection is NOT gone, and she continues to pull on her ears. She is also sneezing and coughing. NOT GOOD PEOPLE! WILL IT EVER END?!?! Good thing she's so cute!

So, since we didn't go out, we had to find other ways to amuse ourselves. I have now memorized every song all of her little toys play. My knees are a bit sore from chasing her around the hardwood kitchen floors (there is something about their kitchen she loves!). I am well rested and so thankful for my dad constantly reminding me to take my Robitussin (no really, I am!) I came downstairs one day to find Lucy being pulled in the laundry basket by my dad singing, "Row, Row, Row Your Boat." It was hilarious. She now LOVES this activity. Cute pictures to prove it!

Lucy also got to eat some new foods (and a lot of her favorites-corn, potatoes, and cheese).

She is doing pretty well with people food these days, and has seemed to want to drop her a.m. bottle (this is FINE with me, as I'd love to only wash ONE bottle every day-I NEVER THOUGHT I'D SEE THE DAY!!!!!!!). She had quite an adventure on fajita night...I've never seen, and probably won't again, beans in so many nooks and crannies of the human body! Just LOOK!

Lucy also came up with a new variation of Grandy (which she won't be able to say until she's 2! She calls him "Ga-Ga" and it's too cute! She also said "chicken" and learned that a cow says "moo." Hopefully she won't ever "moo" at an inappropriate time (like when I am naked in front of the mirror). Lucy is still not walking, but she's letting go more, and taking a step or two quite often. Maybe by her big day?!

We just got back home and we're elbow deep in laundry. Lucy of course found the basket. I fancied it up for her. May I present to you the new...LAZY BOY FOR BABIES!

I hope this isn't considered child abuse, because she LOVES IT!
